Kaskaskia Country Club Board Meeting
January 2, 2008
The Kaskaskia Country Club Board met Jan 2, 2008. Board members present included: Chad Strader, Gerald Taylor, Dave Gilbert, Butch Mast, Dick Hein, Kevin Hohlbauch, and Debbie Chenoweth. Kevin Bishop, groundskeeper was absent.
Manager Report-Dennis Jumper
Dennis and Cindy reported that the carpets would all be cleaned before they closed down for the winter.
They are leave around January 10th and will return sometime the first week in February.
They reported that the security company has a list of people to call if anything is wrong. Clyde will do a walk though once a week to check on coolers and everything in general.
Dennis is having problems with the cooler and the electricity. He thinks there should be more outlets and another circuit ran.
He has signed the contract. Chad will get with Debbie Chenoweth to sign for the board.
News Years Eve was GREAT! They have booked the band again for next year.
The board thanked Dennis and Cindy for a great year.
The meeting was called to order by President Chad Strader. The minutes of the December meeting were reviewed. A correction to the minutes was as follows: The men’s bathroom has not been painted. They can not match the paint. Dick Hein made a motion to accept the minutes with change and Gerald Taylor second. The motion carried.
Treasure’s Report- Debbie Chenoweth
Debbie presented the bills for review and payment. Dick Hein made a motion to pay all bills. Gunner Taylor seconded and motion carried.
New member applications were presented – Blake DeLong, Junior Golf and Steve Robinson, Family Golf. Kevin Hohlbauch made a motion to accept the applications. Gunner Taylor second, motion carried.
Debbie has all of the invoices and flyers ready to send January 7, 2008. Jr. Golfer’s were discussed and it was decided that they will receive a Jr. Application to reapply this year. The application will have their age and school status on it.
There was a question about family golf memberships for people that are not married. It was firmly decided that it will not happen. The couples that have been doing this can continue but there will be no more. Debbie asked about life membership’s contracts and no one seemed to know where the contracts are.
The finances where looked at and Dick Hein made a motion to accept the report with Gerald Taylor second. The motion carried.
Groundskeeper- Kevin Bishop

Clubhouse-Dave Gilbert
The cooler in bar needs to be repaired or replaced Mark Spainhour will get a firm bid on either a new cooler or repairing the compressor in the old. The ice machine also needs to be replaced because it can not keep up when there is a party. Mark will get a price on it also.
Butch Mast is going to get see about running two circuits to the bar with more outlets. He will contact Merv.
It was brought up that there needs to be a rope or something on the stairs to block them when there is a party. The smaller children where running up and around the conference room and back down.
Grounds and Greens- Gerald Taylor
Plans are being made to create a nursery for bent grass. They are looking at cost, where and watering.
Rick Marsh has a walk behind mower that will stop the scalping of the back of the greens.
Mike Hilgenburge is donating the new tree to be planted this spring.
Gunner presented a quote on a Jacobson GPlix 20007 demo mower $23,800.00. The board wants a firm bid from Toro by the Feb. meeting to make a final discussion on the mower.
Dick Heim has a quote of $1,500.00 to trim all the trees and remove the logs. He will ask if the stumps can be removed also. They will start Jan. 3rd. Dave Gilbert made a motion to have the trees trimmed and the stumps removed. Kevin Hohlbauch second and motion carried. The dirt will start coming in sometime in March.
Social/Membership- Dick Hein
The social committee is looking for new activities and will get with Dennis when returns from vacation.
Dick challenged all board members to have three new members by the next meeting.
Finance: - John Connor absent
Golf- Kevin Hohlbauch
There will be no Frozen open this year. It is too cold!
New Business:
Room rentals where discussed as to the charges if more than one person used the dinning room and did not ask that it be closed. The wording in the hand book is confusing and suggested that it be looked at for a change. Debbie is to look at the payments that the club has received this year.
The new by law will be added to the hand book. All members are to look at the book and recommend any changes.
February meeting will be at the club house on Feb. 6, 2008 at 7:00pm
